You can never be too rich or too curvy
There is a great article in today’s Toronto Star about women's concern about being over 200 lbs.
It was inspired by the recent talk about Oprah’s weight.
Oprah has gradual gone up to 200 lbs, due to a thyroid problem and busy schedule. The cover story on her latest O magazine is dedicated to her admitting how she gained it and what she’s doing to try and lose it.
“So here I stand, 40 pounds heavier than I was in 2006. (Yes, you’re adding correctly; that means the dreaded 2-0-0.) I’m mad at myself. I’m embarrassed. I can’t believe that after all these years, all the things I know how to do, I’m still talking about my weight.”
I can’t believe she’s still talking about it either.
If the most powerful woman in American media can’t be unapologetically curvy, who can?
I’m not the first, and I won’t be the last, blogger to say I think Oprah looks good at 200 lbs. It would be great to see a high profile woman, like her, accept and love her new curves rather than read the same old stories about eating right and exercising more.
