All-candidated out
Well, I'm officially ready for Election '08 to be over.
I've witnessed first-hand and read enough recaps of Northumberland-Quinte West all-candidates meetings, candidate profiles, 10 questions with candidates and so on (and on, and on, if you get the picture) to last a lifetime.
So enough talk. Let's take Thanksgiving weekend off, let the leaders continue to make promises that we all know won't be kept or are unattainable, and then let's get to the polls on Tuesday, Oct. 14, and exercise the right our great-grandfathers, grandfathers, fathers, uncles (and female equivalent of all) fought and died for us to have.
But it is amazing how many letters we're receiving from Green Party and NDP supporters that are asking their ranks to vote for the Liberals, in an attempt to keep the Conservatives from regaining power. It could be working, as polls suggest the Conservatives are losing ground in the final week.
But I'd still be shocked if Stephen Harper doesn't return as Prime Minister on Wednesday morning, although his majority government sure doesn't look like a lock anymore.
Amen to that.......
