New reporter in Brighton

Tremblay_bill

The Independent (Brighton) and our sister paper in west Northumberland, the Northumberland News, are pleased to welcome Bill Tremblay to The Indy newsroom.

Bill joined the team today and will be our general assignment/sports reporter, plus photographer, plus videographer. He's definitely going to be a busy guy, but hey, that's the changing face of journalism. The stereotypical idea of the old school journalist with a fedora, cigar and bottle of whiskey in his desk drawer is long gone (although I'd like to talk to the boss about bringing back the whiskey in the drawer some days!).

Bill fits the, uh, bill perfectly, with all his tools.

Bill is a graduate of Canadore College and has worked at our competition in Quinte West for about a year, so he is already familiar with many people in the eastern reaches of Northumberland, which gives him a head-start in his new position.

If you have a story idea for Bill or would like to introduce yourself, do so at 613-475-0255 or btremblay@indynews.ca.

And welcome to the team, Bill!

Comment Guidelines

  • We welcome comments but we ask that you observe our guidelines. We like readers who are prepared to stand by their comments by offering their 'real' first and last name - it adds validity to your comments. Stick to the topic and keep it clean. Personal attacks on individuals, bad language and unsubstantiated rumours have no place here. It's OK to be edgy, but if you're going to engage in name-calling and boorish behaviour take it elsewhere in cyberspace. And forget about posting under multiple IDs from the same IP address -- you'll get banned. Full Guidelines.
